Descriptive Adjectives:
Descriptive Adjectives को हिंदी व्याकरण में “वर्णानात्मक विशेषण” अथवा गुणवाचक विशेषण” कहा जाता है. अर्थात ऐसे विशेषण ( Adjectives) जो किसी Noun अथवा Pronoun का वर्णन करते हों उन्हें Descriptive Adjectives कहते हैं.
इसे और भी Simple तरीके से व्यक्त कर सकते हैं –
वाक्य में जो Adjectives किसी वस्तु , स्थान , व्यक्ति , प्राणी आदि की Quality , Speciality or Attribute को बताता है उसे Descriptive Adjectives कहते हैं.
Definition of Descriptive Adjectives in English:
The Adjectives which tell the quality, speciality or attribute of Nouns or Pronouns are called Descriptive Adjectives. or
A descriptive adjective is an adjective that modifies a Noun or Pronoun by describing it or expressing its quality, speciality or attribute.

Examples of Descriptive Adjectives:
Noun or Pronoun को Describe कई तरह से किया जा सकता है. जैसे – Colour, Height, Size, Condition, Shape etc.
Colour: Red, Green, Blue, White
- My book is red.
- Her dress was in green.
- Her eys looked blue.
Size: Big, Small, Short, Tall, Tinny etc.
- He stood next to the tall girl.
- A short tree is in my house.
- We have a few small puppies.
Shape: Round, Square, Curved, etc.
- In my house, there are two rectangular windows.
- That box is square.
- We walked on a curved path with my parents.
Texture: Smooth, Rough, Soft, Hard etc.
- That cricket ball is soft.
- The bike is very smooth while driving.
Condition: Old, New, Broken, Dirty etc
- I drank cold water.
- Don’t wear that dress, it is very dirty.
Emotions: Happy, Sad, Excited, Calm, Angry etc.
- He was deeply saddened by the loss of his beloved pet.
- The movie left him feeling unsettled and anxious.
Personality: Kind, Generous, Selfish, Funny, Serious, Friendly etc.
