Abstract Nouns:

Abstract का हिंदी अर्थ है “भाव”, इसलिए Abstract Noun का हिंदी अर्थ “भाव वाचक संज्ञा ” होता है . जिस संज्ञा से किसी भाव , गुण , दशा , या अवस्था का बोध होता है , उस संज्ञा को English Grammar में Abstract Noun और हिंदी व्याकरण में भाववाचक संज्ञा कहते हैं.

Abstract Nouns को Five Senses के through महसूस नहीं किया जा सकता है जबकि Concrete Nouns को Five Senses के through महसूस किया जा सकता है .

Five Senses जिन्हे हम हिंदी में “पांच ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ” कहते हैं. ये हमारे शरीर के “हाथ , कान , नाक , आँख और जीभ है.”

What is Abstract Noun?

It is a type of Noun. The noun which gives the sense of any emotions, quality, conditions, or state, that noun is called Abstract Noun in English Grammar.

We cannot touch abstract nouns, nor can it be heard, nor can it be seen, nor can it be smelled nor can it be tasted.

If such nouns words come in any sentence which you cannot recognize with your five senses, then such nouns are considered abstract nouns. like, love, anger, beauty, etc.

Abstract noun meaning in Hindi:

हम जानते हैं कि किसी भी प्राणी, वस्तु, जगह, जाति, धर्म, इवेंट के नाम को Noun कहा जाता है. हम यह भी जानते हैं कि हमारे आस – पास में जो भी Nouns हैं वे किसी न किसी अवस्था में होते हैं. यदि वह Noun किसी भी प्रकार की भौतिक अवस्था (Physical State ) में हैं तो उसे हम Concrete Noun कहते हैं. और अगर वही Noun किसी भी प्रकार की अवस्था में न होकर , किसी भाव का बोध करा रहा है तब वह Noun, Abstract Noun कहा जायेगा . जैसे – Love , Faith, Honest, Loyal.

Let’s understand through examples –

Rahul is giving divorce to his wife.

इस वाक्य में Divorce शब्द Noun है और यह एक भाव को प्रकट कर रहा है. इस शब्द का संबंध किसी भी तरह की Physical अवस्था से नहीं है इसलिए यह Abstract Noun है.

2nd examples:-

Rita gets very angry (रीता को क्रोध बहुत आता है)

इस वाक्य में Noun क्या है ? Rita और Angry ये दोनों शब्द ही Noun हैं. Rita किसी Lady का नाम है इसलिए यह एक Proper noun है. चूँकि Rita को हम देख भी सकते हैं , छू भी सकते हैं इसलिए यह एक Concrete Noun भी है , लेकिन Angry शब्द कौन सा Noun है ? दोस्तों यंहा पर angry मतलब गुस्सा, यह Rita का भाव बता रहा है इसलिए यह शब्द Abstract Noun है.

3rd examples:-

An apple is tasty in eating. ( सेब खाने में स्वादिस्ट होता है )

इस वाक्य में Abstract noun क्या है ? Tasty यह word Apple के बारे में बता रहा है कि Apple स्वादिस्ट है, अर्थात यह apple का भाव , गुण बता रहा है इसलिए Tasty शब्द यंहा पर Abstract noun है .

Definition of Abstract Noun with examples:-

An abstract noun is a noun that denotes an idea, concept, state, or quality, and which cannot be touchable.

Abstract Noun is a noun that can not be perceived with the five main senses.
