Noun को यदि Name ( नाम ) के Point of View से समझा जाए तो 2 types होते हैं. जिसे हम Common Noun और Proper Noun कहते हैं . हमने पिछले Article में Common Noun के बारे में पढ़ा और जाना था और अब इस Article में Proper Noun को पढ़ेंगे और जानेंगे।

Noun का हिंदी अर्थ होता है – “संज्ञा” . किसी भी व्यक्ति , स्थान , वस्तु , जाति , और भाव का बोध जिस शब्द से होता है , उस शब्द को संज्ञा कहते हैं . यंहा बोध को English में Sense या Feeling कहते हैं . इसलिए अगर English में इसे हम समझे तो – “The word by which any person, animal , place, thing, caste, and feeling is understood, that word is called a Noun”.

What is Proper Noun in English :

किसी Sentence में जिस Word से किसी व्यक्ति या जानवर का नाम , Place का नाम , Thing   का नाम , Cast का नाम , और Feeling का सही – सही Sense होता है तो उसे Word को Proper noun कहते है.  Noun को हिंदी में संज्ञा कहते है , जबकि Common noun को जातिवाचक  संज्ञा , और proper noun को व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा  कहते है। 

Definition;-  A proper noun is a noun that is used to name a particular person, place, day, month, event, language, or brand.

Person name: Ram, Shyam, Seeta, Geeta, Modi, Sunil, Anil, Rahul, Salman, Tomy, etc

Place Name: Mumbai, Nagpur, America, London, South Africa, Nagpur, Delhi, etc

Things Name: Bulb, Bike, Duster, Pen, Mat, Watch, etc.

Cast Name: Pandit, Hindu, Yadav, Mishra, Paswan, Dubey, etc.

Feeling: Love, Fight, Laugh

 

How to differentiate proper nouns from common nouns:-

It is pretty simple and easy to understand. the only thing you have to keep in mind is that common nouns are very common in nature that as bike, key, book, pen, etc .and proper noun refers to anything that you can find specifically that is – William Shakespeare,  Rahul, Taj Hotel, Radhika, Urdu, French, Nagpur, Bhopal, London Chennai & many more.

Should we capitalize all nouns?
