What is a Plural Noun?
Plural Noun को हिंदी में बहुवचन संज्ञा कहते हैं. किसी Sentence or Paragraph में कोई संज्ञा , दो अथवा उससे अधिक नंबर का बोध कराती है तो उसे बहुवचन संज्ञा कहते हैं .
A Noun is plural when it represents two or more people, animals, places, things, ideas, or emotions.
Numbers के Point of view से कोई भी Noun या तो एक संख्या में हो सकती है या फिर एक से अधिक संख्या में . यदि कोई Noun सिर्फ एक संख्या में होने का बोध कराती है तो वह Singular Noun कहलाएगी जबकि यदि संख्या एक से अधिक हो तब वह Plural Noun कहलाएगी . जैसे I have a pen. इस वाक्य में Pen एक Noun है और यह एकवचन में है अर्थात इसकी संख्या सिर्फ एक ही है , इसलिए यंहा पर Pen , Singular Noun है . जबकि यदि वाक्य में Pen की स्थान पर Pens होता तब वह बहुवचन में हो जाता और Pens , Plural Noun बन जाता .

A plural Noun refers to a word that is used to identify more than one person, more than one place, more than one idea, more than one animal.
Plural Noun वह शब्द है जो एक से अधिक वस्तुओं को संदर्भित करने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है. इसके द्वारा हम एक से अधिक व्यक्तियों, स्थानों, वस्तुओं, अवस्थाओं की बात करते हैं .
How to Identify Plural Nouns?
Plural Noun को Identify करना बहुत ही आसान है , इसके लिए आपको बस इतना पहचानना है की Noun एकवचन में है या बहुवचन में. अगर Noun बहुवचन में है तो वह Plural Noun होगा।
अक्सर English Language में Plural Noun के end में s or es लगा होता है . जैसे – Cats , Bats , Pens , Marks, Boxes, etc.
Plural Noun Rules:
Singular Noun को Plural nouns में बड़ी आसानी से convert किया जा सकता है . इसके कुछ साधारण से Rules है जैसे Word के अंतिम में s or es, y or ies लगाकर Singular to Plural noun बना दिया जाता है . इसे विस्तार से आगे देखते हैं –
Adding “s or es”:
कुछ शब्द के अंत में s or es लगाकर Singular to Plural बनाया जाता है – जैसे
Cat – Cats, book – books, pen- pens, dog-dogs, car-cars, chair-chairs, flower-flowers, window-windows, computer-computers, etc.
Box – boxes, Watch – watches, Bush – bushes, Match – matches, Potato – potatoes, Tomato – tomatoes, Bench – benches, Glass – glasses, Class – classes, Wish – wishes,
Adding “n” or “en”
English के कुछ ऐसे भी शब्द होते हैं , जिनके अंत में en लगाकर हम Singular noun से Plural noun में convert कर सकते हैं . e.g.
Man-men, woman-women, child-children
Changing “y” to “ies”:
कुछ शब्दों के अंत में y को change करके ies लगाया जाता है , जिससे शब्द Singular to Plural noun बन जाता है. जैसे –
Baby – babies, City – cities, Party – parties, Cherry – cherries, Fly – flies, Pony – ponies, Berry – berries, Lady – ladies, Country – countries, Story – stories, etc.

कुछ ऐसे भी Words होते हैं , जिनका Singular noun और Plural Noun एक ही Word होता है . जैसे –
Fish-fish, Deer-Deer, Sheep-Sheep, Moose-Moose, Aircraft-Aircraft, Swine-Swine
