English Sentences में Noun की Repetition ( बार – बार होने वाले प्रयोग ) को रोकने के लिए Pronoun का प्रयोग किया जाता है. Reflexive Pronoun:-

Noun को हिंदीं भाषा में “संज्ञा” कहा जाता है जबकि Pronoun को “सर्वनाम” कहा जाता है. अंग्रेजी वाक्य में Noun का प्रयोग बार – बार न हो इसके लिए Pronoun का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है. इसके प्रयोग से वाक्य की खूबसूरती बढ़ जाती है.

Pronoun कई प्रकार के होते हैं, उनमे से एक प्रमुख Reflexive Pronoun भी है. पिछले Post में हम लोगों ने Personal Pronoun के बारे में बहुत सारी जानकारियां ली थी. Personal Pronoun को हिंदी भाषा में “व्यक्ति वाचक सर्वनाम” जबकि Reflexive Pronoun को “निजवाचक सर्वनाम” कहा जाता है.

Reflexive Pronoun Meaning:-

Reflexive Pronoun का Simple अर्थ होता है “स्वयं या खुद” . यह Subject or Speaker ( करनेवाला अथवा बोलनेवाला ) पर जोर डालने के लिए प्रयोग होता है. इस Pronoun के माध्यम से यह मालूम होता है कि Sentence में Subject खुद ही कार्य कर रहा है.

Reflexive Pronoun को और अधिक समझने से पहले हम लोग English के कुछ Sentence को पढ़ते हैं –

I like me. ( मैं मुझे पसंद करता हूँ )
I like myself. ( मैं स्वयं को पसंद करता हूँ )
He forced him to write it. ( वह उसे इसे लिखने के लिए मजबूर किया )
He forced himself to write it. ( वह स्वयं को इसे लिखने के लिए मजबूर किया )

दोस्तों ऊपर दिए वाक्य को पढ़ने से आपको Gramatical mistakes समझ में आ गया होगा. पहले वाक्य में लिखा है कि “I like me” अर्थात “मैं मुझे पसंद करता हूँ”, जो कि Gramaticly गलत है. इसका सही Sentence होता है – ” I like myself” अर्थात “मैं स्वयं को पसंद करता हूँ”.

इसी तरह “He forced him to write it” ( वह उसे इसे लिखने के लिए मजबूर किया ) गलत वाक्य है जबकि इसका सही Sentence “He forced himself to write it” ( वह स्वयं को इसे लिखने के लिए मजबूर किया ) होता है.

Reflexive Pronoun Definition:-

Reflexive Pronouns are words ending in – Self or Selves that are used when the subject and object of a sentence are the same.

Reflexive Pronouns वे Words होते हैं जिनके अंत में Self अथवा Selves लगा होता है. और वाक्य में Subject & Object same होता है.

Reflexive Pronouns Examples:-

Reflexive pronouns मुख्यतः 9 होते हैं , जो कि कुछ इस तरह हैं. इनका प्रयोग Sentence में Subject और Gender के अनुसार होते हैं.

जैसे यदि Subject “I” है तो Pronoun “myself” का प्रयोग होगा.

Notes:-

Masculine Words जैसे Sachin, Rahul, Rohan, The Boy, Father इत्यादि के लिए Pronoun Word “Himself” का प्रयोग किया जाता है.
Feminine Words जैसे Riya, Trisha, Deepa, Mother, Sister, Aunty इत्यादि के लिए “Herself” का प्रयोग किया जाता है.
Common Gender के लिए “Itself” का प्रयोग किया जाता है.
एकवचन के लिए “Self” और बहुवचन के लिए “Selves” का प्रयोग किया जाता है.

Self vs Selves:-

आपने देखा कि किसी Word के अंत में self तो किसी Word के अंत में Salves लगा हुआ है. ऐसा क्यों ? इसका क्या कारण है ? ऐसे कई Questions आपके mind में जरूर आये होंगें. जैसे –

She loves herelf.
They love to themselves.

दोनों Sentence को पढ़ने से पता चलता है कि first sentence में subject “She” Singular है , जबकि दूसरे वाक्य में Subject “They” Plural है.

Selves अंग्रेजी का यह शब्द Self शब्द का Plural form होता है. अर्थात Self एकवचन तो Selves बहुवचन के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है.

इसलिए –

किसी भी वाक्य में, यदि Subject (कर्ता ) एकवचन है तो “Self” का प्रयोग करते हैं, और यदि Subject बहुवचन है तो “Selves” का प्रयोग करते हैं।
In any sentence, if the subject is singular then use “Self”, and if the subject is plural then use “Selves”.
Singular के लिए – Myself, Yourself, Herself, Himself, Itself
Plural के लिए – Ourselves, Themselves, Yourselves

Reflexive Verbs:-

Reflexive verbs in English:-

Reflexive Verbs जैसे Avail, Enjoy, Acuit, Absent, Present, Introduce, Devote, Resign, Teching इत्यादि के बाद Reflexive Pronoun ( Pronoun With Self/Selves ) का प्रयोग होता है, बशर्ते कि इन Verbs के बाद कोई Object ना हो.

जैसे :-

I enjoy myself.
I want to introduce myself as a teacher.
He washed himself in the bathtub.
I cut myself with a knife.
