दोस्तों हम English बोलते समय अथवा लिखते समय बहुत बार How Many अथवा How Much शब्द का प्रयोग करते हैं. दोनों ही Word का Meaning लगभग - लगभग एक जैसा है। लेकन अगर English Grammar ( व्याकरण ) की बात करें तो ऐसा नहीं है. How Many और How Much में काफी कुछ भिन्नता है. आज हम इनके फर्क को पढ़ेंगे एवं समझेंगे.
दोस्तों जैसे की आपको पता है कि How Many अथवा How Much का प्रयोग प्रश्न करते समय तब करते हैं जब हमे उत्तर के रूप में Quantity / Amount or Numbers को जानना होता है.
आपको बताना चाहूंगा की English में Many और Much का अर्थ लगभग Same होता है. दोनों का अर्थ होता है -"कितना".
लेकिन व्याकरण की बात करें तो Many शब्द का इस्तेमाल तब किया जाता है जब नाउन ( संज्ञा ) Countable हो. अर्थात जिसकी गणना की जा सके. और इस तरह Much का प्रयोग तब किया जाता है जब Noun की गणना न की जा सके.
Note :-
Countable Noun = ऐसे नाउन जिनकी गिनती की जा सके। जैसे पेन , बच्चे , फल , इत्यादि.
Non - Countable Noun = ऐसे नाउन जिनकी गिनती नहीं की जा सके। जैसे - पानी , दूध , बालू इत्यादि.
When we want to know the Quantity , Amount or Number of something then we ask the questions starting with How much or How Many.
How Many :- जंहा पर वस्तुओं की गिनती , Numbers ( संख्या ) अथवा अंको में की जा सके वंहा पर How Many का प्रयोग करके प्रश्न पूछा जाता है.
जबकि
How Much :- जंहा पर वस्तओं की गिनती करना असंभव हो अथवा गिनती मात्रा में की जाती हो , वंहा पर How Much का प्रयोग करके प्रश्न किया जाता है.
Use Much if Noun ( संज्ञा ) is non - countable .
Use Many if Noun is Countable .
Example ( Many & How Many ) :-
Q ) How many friends you have ?
Ans :- I have 4 friends.
Q ) How many boys are there in class ?
Ans :- There are 20 boys in class.
Q ) How many books have you got ?
Ans :- I have got 10 books.
Example ( Many & How Many ) :-
Q ) How much coal in there in his house ?
Ans :- There is plenty of coal in his house.
Q ) How much tea is there in that carton ?
Ans :- There is not much tea in that carton.
Q ) How much sugar you need ?
Ans :- I need little sugar.
Q ) How much cloths is there in shop?
Ans :- There is lots of cloth in shop.
